Capitol Museum Services (CMS), one of the nation’s leading fabricators and installers of museum, visitor center and public space exhibits, is pleased to announce the addition of Audio-Visual Hardware and Integration to its already extensive in-house capabilities. AV industry veteran Chet Kaplan will be joining the CMS family as Director of AV Hardware Integration, creating a department that will make CMS even more full serviced and solution focused. Formerly with Boston Productions, Inc., Chet has been working with museum project managers, designers, clients and contractors for more than 30 years in every aspect of AV integration for museum exhibits and corporate environments. “Previously working with CMS on major projects such as “Q?Rius” at Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, and Port Canaveral Authority’s Cove Welcome Center made the transition onto the team a snap,” says Kaplan.
Amanda Coggins, VP of Museum Services at CMS, is excited to finally offer this service to museum and visitor center clients. According to Ms. Coggins, “Current exhibit designs involve more and more interactive technology with every new project, and having that knowledge and capability in-house is extremely important to our clients. It makes them more confident that our estimating and detailing is comprehensive and that we understand every aspect of the total experience that they want to achieve for their audience.” She emphasizes the importance of having a department that can direct estimators to hardware and systems that are the most reliable and cost effective from the initial value engineering and costing stages, and meet today’s technology-driven designs.
